4th & 5th Grade Sunday School

He said therefore, ‘What is the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.’  – Luke 13:18-19

4th & 5th Grades
Sundays, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.

Upper elementary is about digging deeper into God’s word and understanding what that means to us today.  The youth will actively participate in the Scripture – by having a Passover meal or creating their own Esau stew.  At different times during the year, the class may be hearing and learning the same stories as in worship, so families can share their faith experiences.  We introduce some of our faith vocabulary, such as call and covenant, and learn the geography of the Bible times.  Sunday School for 4th & 5th grades is located in the Drama Tent on the upper level.

4th & 5th Grade Goals

• Deepen the connection with God
• Engage the youth in the reading and understanding of the Bible as a source for our faith and relationship with God
• Learn the historical setting of Biblical times
• Build trusting and fun relationships with others
