Program
Description
Out of School Time provides before and after school care in a relaxed atmosphere. Children can join in group activities, pursue a special interest, do homework or simply relax. Field trips and special activities are planned for vacation periods. Transportation is available from Hinsdale Schools. This program has several options to meet your family’s needs:
Kindergarten Care – This option is designed for working families or families who want their child in AM Kindergarten to have some time for socialization with children their own age. The Union Church ECP will pick your child up from their school and bring them back to the ECP for lunch and a fun afternoon. Lunch and transportation are provided by our program!
After School – This option is a traditional after school program where children are picked up at their school and brought back to the ECP. This program is open until 6:30 pm and a snack is provided.
Holiday Programming – The Union Church ECP Out of School Time program provides all day care for children when the schools are closed for a holiday or for a ½ day. During these days field trips are typically planned. This program option is only available when 10 or more children are signed up to attend.
Group
Size and Teacher to Child Ratio
The Union Church Early Childhood Programs are licensed by the State of Illinois and we are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This means that we follow the group size and teacher to adult ratios that are recommended/mandated by these organizations. The Out of School Time Program is required to meet a ratio of 1 teacher for 20 children. We believe that this ratio is too high and we strive to have 1 teacher for every 10-13 children. |
