New Comers Orientation

Learn more about Union Church and about becoming a member at a New Comers Orientation Dinner, in the South Parlor on Sunday, May 20 – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Members of the Membership Committee and Staff will be on hand to describe the ministries and mission of Union Church, share how people of all ages can grow in their faith at Union Church, and answer questions.

The Service of Prayer and Healing has been renamed The Service of Healing Prayer. This name is more descriptive of the service held the third Sunday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Our service includes music, hymns, scripture, a meditation, quite time for personal prayer, communion and the laying on of hands. Come join us!

Our own Claudia Moffat who will take a fun look at the apron – from the heavy-duty butcher’s apron to the dainty appliquéd chiffon number that you might see on the hostess of a 1950’s dinner party. We’ll also be announcing our Scholarship recipients and installing new Women’s Association officers for the upcoming year. Buy your tickets to this event from any Women’s Association member or at your unit meeting.

Everyone is encouraged to wear an apron to the luncheon.

Women’s Association Plant Sale 2012

It’s definitely that time again!  Plants are very much ahead of schedule, so it’s time to start digging at the first sign of perennials poking their heads above the surface.  It’s so much better to dig them while they’re small, and if you don’t want to tend them until Plant Sale (May 4) just bring them to the front courtyard at 322 North Bruner where they will be kept watered and tended until the big day.  Pots are available on the back patio of the same abode, so just come and help yourself when you’re ready to dig.  If you have plants to share, but can’t dig them yourself, call Ruth Finlay, 630-323-4715 or Eleanor Patterson, 630-887-0978 and we’ll send help.  Help the Women’s Association help others.

Originally scheduled for May 11, the date has been changed to May 4 for this year.
