“Getting to know your Endowment Ministry…”

The Endowment Ministry is responsible for managing, growing and distributing income from the Church’s Endowment Fund.  The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to provide members and friends of the Church with an opportunity to leave a permanent legacy at Union Church.   The Endowment Fund is one of three sources of income for the church, the other two being the annual pledge campaign and capital campaigns as needed to meet the special needs of the Church.  Each year, the Endowment Fund Ministry distributes an amount equal to 5% of the average value of the entire fund over the preceding three years.   In 2010, approximately $65,000 was distributed in total, with $54,000 of that going into the General Fund of the Church to be distributed as part of the budget process.
