Joanna Wernette
Director of the Chancel Choir

Joanna Wernette was born and raised in Hinsdale, and has been a singer and music lover all her life. A graduate of The Chicago College of Performing Arts (BM) and DePaul University (MM), Joanna has enjoyed extensive performing success on the operatic and concert stage as a professional singer, and has sung in The Chicago Symphony Chorus and the Grant Park Music Festival Chorus. In addition to enjoying classical repertoire, Joanna has a love of all kinds of music including folk, blues, rock, and contemporary billboard hits. Having been a church musician for the last twelve years, Joanna is thrilled to be the director of the Chancel Choir, and loves to have fun making beautiful music with the choir. Joanna has a flourishing private voice studio, and takes great joy in sharing the passion of music and singing with others. She resides in Hinsdale with her two puggles, Benny and Daisy.
