Each month you can read highlights from the ministries, committees, and Executive Council.  These highlights represent the top 3 items discussed or decided at each meeting and/or items coming up that the ministry or committee wants to communicate to you.

Of course,  full minutes of all meeting can be found in the information rack outside of Helen Hall.

Mission Ministry – February 21, 2012

1. Union Church “All Church In-House Mission Day” will be held Saturday, April 28.
2. Mission Ministry has added the Union Church Soup Kitchen as one of its agencies.
3. Union Church is purchasing a freezer for St. John’s UCC, to replace their food pantry freezer which broke down.

Parish Life Ministry – February 21, 2012

1. Began planning the Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for April 7 at 10:00 a.m.
2. Reviewed the Ministry’s responsibilities and planned events for the upcoming year.
3. We welcomed our new members and elected officers.

Worship Ministry – February 21, 2012

1. Wednesday Services will be at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel during Lent.
2. Easter services, April 8, will be held at 6:30, 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.
3. Anyone interested in sewing or quilting – and might have time to plan or work on banners for the sanctuary should contact May Haarlow, (630) 325-0492.

Trustee Ministry – February 21, 2012

1. Formed a committee to spec and procure a new sound system for the church.
2. Human Resources has initiated a SMART goal program to align goals between ministries, committees, and staff.
3. Hired a new computer maintenance vendor to provide a high level of service for substantial savings.

Membership Committee – February 08, 2012

1. Discussed committee objectives for 2012, including 35 new members, maintaining an accurate data base of all members & friends, and greater community outreach.
2. Discussed updating front yard signage for Union Church, to make it more inviting.
3. Completed plans for new members’ Inquirer Classes and receiving them on March 11.
