Dear Families,

Welcome to another Sunday School year!  As we transition to “frenzied fall”, as its called in our house, the Children’s Committee and I want to make it easy for families to navigate the children’s programs available through the church. In this booklet you will find information about the Sunday School classes, children’s choir, Christmas pageant and the mid-week LOGOS program.

We also want to introduce you to a concept called “milestone” ministry, which Jeremy Hylen, Children’s Committee and I have been developing to help families understand our vision for passing on faith.  Milestones offer a way to connect the events of our lives with God’s biblical stories in a way that can help us realize God is traveling with us.  For each of our Sunday School classes, we offer scripture and a symbol to mark that particular time in the child’s or youth’s spiritual development.  Some examples of our church’s milestones: baptism, presentation of Bibles, confirmation, learning the seasons of the church year and learning the prayers, and various teachings of one’s faith.   Families will continue to see the symbols for each stage of faith formation to the culmination of graduation.

We continue to bridge Sunday mornings with our Wednesday, LOGOS program. This year our theme is Going Green. We are creating a new curriculum around “reduce, reuse, recycle.” I can’t wait to see the creative dress of our kids this year.
